About Us

For many years our club was known as Multnomah, and later had been sponsored by Bigfoot Lacrosse. Currently playing as Portland Lax, we are sponsored by Lacrosse Northwest. We play against teams from Seattle and Eugene in the PNLA B Division. Many teams in this division (including ours) feature past DI, DIII and MCLA players.

Eugene 10 Bigfoot 8

Playing in heat with only two subs Bigfoot managed to lead through three quarters of the game, but couldn't quite hold on as Eugene (Joe Kerwin) managed to stage a fourth quarter come back and knot the game at 8. With two penalties called against Bigfoot attackman the Foot defense was able to withstand Eugene's pressure and keep the game tied at 8. Eugene scored with three minutes left in the game to go up, and when a seven man defensive effort with Josh Azavedo jumping out of the cage to try and get the ball back failed, Eugene was able to score their tenth and final goal of the game with under one minute to play. Final score, Eugene 10 Bigfoot 8. A great team effort.

Rainier over Bigfoot 11 - 9

This was a game where the referee's had a huge impact on the game. The first half was a close back and forth affair and shortly before the half a three minute penalty was called on Rainer for a very late hit on Dave Sanford behind the goal. Bigfoot failed to capitalize on this, but also got called for 2 slashing (?) penalties immediately afterwards which the referee signaled as 1 minute and 45 second penalties.

During this time Rainier broke the game open. Bigfoot rallied late in the game but fell just a hair short

Goals: Tillson 2, Worth
Assists: Sanford 2, Tillson 2, Hooton

Bigfoot defeats Buckleys 11-10 for first victory of the season

Bigfoot came out of the gates hot racing to a big early lead and then hung on in the end as Buckley's mounted a furious come back. Alex Tillson was on fire from the crease and led all scorers with 4 goals and 2 assists while Kyle Virding added 4 assists for the second time this season. Bigfoot looked sharp moving the ball and played more as a team than they had in any of their previous efforts! And the Blazers beat the Lakers afterwards during the drink-up, what could be better!

Bigfoot hangs tough for 3 quarters but falls to Huron 16-8

From the final score, you wouldn't think that with about 5 minutes to go in the third quarter the game was tied 7-7 after Huber scored on a man up opportunity and Sanford tallied his second of the day with a diving goal from the wing... but it was. This game was hard fought but in the end Huron had a lot more in the tank than 'foot did. It's likely the tough contest on Saturday played a part in the outcome, especially the way the game played out down the stretch. Still, at moments this weekend 'foot showed it can play with anyone in our league, so assuming all the new players continue to gel, we should be looking sharp come tournament time (if we get in)!

Goals:
Hooton 2, Sanford 2, Huber 2, Tilson 1, Kavanaugh 1

Bigfoot falls to Coopers in final moments 9-8

After leading 7-3 midway through the 3rd quarter Bigfoot ran out of gas, and league leading Coopers capitalized on a series of penalties rallying to defeat the 'foot 9-8 with the winning goal coming with about 3 minutes left in the game. In a losing effort Kyle Virding led Bigfoot with five points (1g and 4a) and Dave Sanford added four (3 g and 1a) and first year goaltender Josh Azevedo was spectacular in goal with several point blank saves.

Goals:
Virding 1g 4a, Sanford 3g 1a, Hooton 1, TIlson 1, Shimmel 1, Hodge 1

Bigfoot stunned by Linfield 12-6

Bigfoot's 2010 debut featured a ton of new players and that said, a bit of a need to gel more as a team... Linfield had picked up a bunch of guys from Western Oregon who really took it to the older Bigfoot squad and pulled away in the second half.

Goals: Shimmel (2), Hodge, Sanford, Hooton, Virding, one more not sure...
