About Us

For many years our club was known as Multnomah, and later had been sponsored by Bigfoot Lacrosse. Currently playing as Portland Lax, we are sponsored by Lacrosse Northwest. We play against teams from Seattle and Eugene in the PNLA B Division. Many teams in this division (including ours) feature past DI, DIII and MCLA players.

Bigfoot UPSETS Coopers in final game of season.

It was a HOT Sunday at OES. With temperatures in the 80s and a thin bench the 'foot prepared for the last game of the season. Coopers traveled well as they always do and was ready for action with more than one line of midfielders.

Kyle Virdig opened the scoring for Bigfoot off a feed from Huber and the game went back and forth from there with the score being 4-3 in halftime. Bigfoot surged ahead in the 3rd quarter with some great passing and goals from Sanford, Hooton and Huber to get up to an 8-6 lead, then fought off a late rally from Coopers to secure the upset.

Kyle was stellar in goal and the season wrapped up on a positive note, with the summer ball season coming up next in late June!

Game 9 Recap: Bigfoot 17 Linfield 2

Linfield jumped out to a 1-0 lead but it was all Bigfoot from there. Balanced scoring and a good time had by all. Thanks to Mr. Huber for officiating...

Game 8 Recap: Bigfoot 15 Steelhead 8

After losing a close one in Seattle earlier in the year Bigfoot rebounded to soundly defeat Steelhead. I missed the game so no stats on this one I am afraid...

Game 7 Recap: Buckleys 15 Bigfoot 12

This game was technically a forfeit because not enough guys showed up which really bummed out the guys that did, but the nice folks from Buckleys gave us a couple of guys so we could still play.

Bigfoot broke out to a 9-3 lead at the half with Cooley and Chakley really seeming unstoppable dodging from the midfield.

But in the third quarter something crazy happened, Buckleys got their offense in sync, won 8 straight face offs and scored each time. The Foot rallied, but ran out of time.

Goals: Chakley 3, Cooley 3, Klump 2, Sanford 2, Morrow 1, Loaners 1
Assists: Sanford 3, Chakley 2

Game 6 Recap: Bigfoot 11 Gonzo 8

Game 5 Recap: Huron 11 Bigfoot 7

Game 4 Recap: Bigfoot falls to Steelhead 7-5

In recent years, the games between Bigfoot (formerly Multnomah) and Steelhead (formerly Crease Monkeys) have been a little chippy, but on this day everyone seemed to be on their best behavior. Steelhead broke out to an early three nothing lead despite starting the game with only 10 guys, but the 'foot battled back and closed the gap to 1 goal leading into the fourth quarter.

Early in the fourth quarter Bigfoot had some good looks, but couldn't convert. Steelhead countered and did. The 'foot added the last two goals of the game to narrow the gap, but couldn't catch Steelhead who came away with the win.

The game featured the first goals of the season for Ken Hooton, new player Andy Klumpp and Oregon defenseman Justin Cooley who had two goals from the midfield including a scorcher (?) on man-up.

Game 3 Recap: Bigfoot hangs close but falls to Coopers 10-8

Bigfoot had one of its strongest showing in away games at Coopers in recent years, hanging close until the final moments and really giving Coopers a run for its money. Bigfoot was led by Kyle's goaltending (more saves than we can count) and the Southridge connection of Robert Huber (4 goals) and Paul Voas (2 goals) both making their first appearances for the 'foot this year.

If the ball bounced a different way a couple of times the outcome may have been different. Outstanding post-game comraderie and sportsmanship from both teams as well, we're looking forward to the rematch in a few weeks...

Game 2 Recap: Bigfoot defeats Buckleys in home opener 11-6

Bigfoot came out strong and never looked back, coasting to an 11-6 victory in their home opener over Buckleys. Many of the new Bigfoot players played a big role in the game and the team relied on a balanced scoring attack for this victory. Bigfoot had great numbers (close to 20 players) on the field and at the party afterwards, with a good time had by all. Stellar performance in goal from Kyle and the offense was led by Brian Silcott (4 goals) and Dave Sanford (3 goals, 1 assist).

Game 1 Recap: Linfield 10 Bigfoot 9

So while it literally came down to the final four seconds our first game of the season ended in a loss. After being down 7-3 at halftime we rallied within inches of tying the game, but as a last second effort fell short, we ended up losing 10-9.

After getting off to a slow start, the Bigfoot squad which featured a ton of new players on offense started to gel and really dominated the second half of the game from end to end. Attackmen Cooper Morrow (3 goals) and Dave Sanford (2 goals) each put up five points complemented by balanced scoring from the midfield. All told, seven players found the net on Saturday, and with several of the top guns out of the line up, it shows that there's definitely a bright future ahead for Team Bigfoot.

Goals Assists Points
Cooper Morrow 3 2 5
Dave Sanford 2 3 5
Roger Hodge 2 0 2
Scott Chalkey 1 1 2
Garry Falor 1 0 1

Our next game is a home game... 3/22/2009 vs Buckleys at OES. Hope to see you there!
